Comptroller Update on Assessors Office

Representatives from the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office met with the Henderson County Mayor and Property Assessor on January 22, 2020.

A follow up review of the Henderson County Property Assessor’s Office was conducted. Bryan Kinsey, Assistant Director of the Division of Property Assessment provided the following response on January 24, 2020. “The purpose of the meeting was for staff from the Comptroller’s Office to update the assessor and mayor on Comptroller efforts to support the assessor’s office over the past few months and to identify areas of continued concern. A brief summary of the meeting content follows below.”

“After the countywide review project was completed in August 2019, staff from the Comptroller’s Division of Property Assessments (DPA) met with the assessor and his staff to evaluate training and support needs and to develop a plan to meet those needs. Many areas were identified, and additional training and support were provided.
