The second reading of an ordinance to amend the Lexington Municipal Code was read and approved that allows the sale of intoxicating liquors for on premises consumption and allows the city to levy a privilege tax. Mayor Griggs explained that this change was to put the city ordinances into compliance with state code, which required the change once the referendum was approved.
