Candidates Qualify, Lexington Ballot Set

The ballots are set for the 2025 Lexington municipal election as candidates make the decision on which races to join.
Alderman Gordon Wildridge and County Commissioner Andy Anderson will face off int the race for mayor.
Four candidates are running for alderman, position 4, as incumbent Fred Ellis is being challenged by County Commissioner Jack Johnson, Donna Ross and Candi Davis.
In position 5, Alderman Jimmy White is being challenged by Mayor Jeff Griggs and Patrick Cherry.
In position 6, the seat being vacated by Wildridge, Chip Clark, Earnest Ray Thomas, Jr., and Blake Mitchell have qualified.
In the city school board races, incumbents Chadwick Wood, Jim Terry and Ann Anderson are unopposed. Sara Nicole Priest is challenging incumbent Carl Cooley for position 2.
Candidates have until Thursday, June 26th to withdraw their names from the ballot. All offices are four-year terms.
Early voting will be August 22nd through September 6th, with election day set for September 11th.
