Sardis Approves Second Reading of Water Rate Hike

The Sardis City Board approved the second reading of a water rate increase during the board January 6th meeting.
The board voted in December for a small increase to the rates, hoping to keep the state from forcing the board to raise the rates.
The increase will not go into effect until 2026 and will likely cost the average user between $1 and $2 a month on their bill.
