Lady Tigers Volleyball Season Ends with Loss to Hume Fogg

While the Lexington Lady Tigers volleyball team had a very successful season in getting into postseason play, Lexington was looking to make their way through the 2021 Class AA State Volleyball Tournament. Competing with the best of the best, Lexington knew coming into this match that the season was all on the line against Hume Fogg. The Lady Tigers would need a win to advance and keep playing. The team left it all on the court and fought hard to keep playing but in the end, it was ultimately Hume Fogg that took the win. Lexington fell in three straight sets to end their season, 21-25, 22-25, and 23-25.

This was a very special team that achieved a lot of their goals this season and were hoping to be able to win it all. Things are definitely looking up for the LHS Lady Tigers Volleyball program as they head into the offseason and get ready to start the upcoming season next year.

The Lady Tiger players that led the team in kills over Hume Fogg were Preslee Doner and Ellie Smith. Both players ended with nine kills in the match. Callie McDonald recorded eight and Kylie Atchison had six. Morgan Sanders would finish with three kills and Kenzie Reeves accounted for two kills in the loss.

Leading Lexington in assists was Kylie Atchison. She recorded 24 over Hume Fogg. Both Emmy Corbitt and Ellie Smith accounted for two assists each. Preslee Doner and Kenzie Reeves finished with…
