Lexington Fire Department Trains on Burning Vehicle Scenario

The Lexington Fire Department conducts monthly training, rain or shine, according to Assistant Chief Jon Maness. If conditions are bad then they have inside classroom training, but Thursday night, September 24, 2021, was an outside night event. Lexington Fire Department’s photographer, Phil Blakley, captured some amazing photos of Lexington’s finest training on a vehicle fire scenario.

Jon said that the vehicle is a prop, made from a scrap vehicle, which avoids sending pollutants or toxic gases into the environment. The vehicle is connected to a propane tank, and the fire and the scenario can be controlled to simulate…
