Lady Tigers Unable to Stop South Side Lady Hawks

Last week, the Lady Tigers basketball team set out to hit the road in an away game at South Side High School. The team knew they had a big task ahead of them as the Lady Hawks are a powerful team in West Tennessee. Giving their best effort and showing some athleticism in the contest, ultimately it was the Lady Hawks of South Side who took the win, 68-31.

The Lady Tigers had success at the free-throw line in the contest when they had opportunities. Lexington was 5 of 6 from the charity stripe against South Side. The Lady Tigers also made 13 two-point baskets in the game. Lexington, however, did not make a three-point basket during the game.

Leading the way in scoring for Lexington on the night was Jadyn Yarbro. Yarbro collected 10 points in the game for the Lady Tigers. Jadyn did not miss in her free-throw attempts, as she went 4 for 4 from the line. Alaysia Belew followed her by scoring 8 points and Kylie Waldrep would collect 4 points on the night. Callie McDonald would score three points in the game. McDonald also was 1 for 2 from the free-throw line for Lexington. There were three Lady Tiger teammates that scored 2 points in the game. Those were Candace Butler, Sarah Simmons, and Jenna Odle.

To start the game, Lexington would score 6 points in the first quarter. The Lady Tigers would also come back in the second quarter by scoring 6 points, too. In the third quarter…
