Lions Basketball Ready To take to the Hardwood

The Scotts Hill Lions Basketball programs started their season last night in their Hall of Fame game against Clarksburg. The Lady Lions and Lions are, once again, ready to get their season rolling and show everyone what they have all worked on during offseason workouts and practices. We will take a look into the schedule for the Lions Basketball program and also cover both the Lady Lions and Lions team makeup of players and coaches.
First, the season kicked off last night as both teams took on Clarksburg. On Friday they will travel to Crockett County, followed by a game at home against Huntingdon on November 24. November 30 is an away game at Carroll Academy, and they will travel to Collinwood on December 1. Returning home on December 4 the teams will take on West Carroll and back on the road December 8 to face Adamsville. McNairy Central will be the opponent on December 11, which is an away game. The Lady Lions and Lions return home on December 15 to welcome Jackson South Side. December 21-22, the Lady Lions will participate in the Perry County Classic and on December 28-29 they will compete in the Fayette Academy Classic. On December 28-30, the Lions will be competing in the Huntingdon Classic. This rounds out the schedule for the end or the year and we will cover more in future editions of The Lexington Progress.
The Lady Lions team consists of five seniors. Those players are Blaize Deere, Journey Knowles, Harley Bowman, Bradie Ivey, and Ashlyn Buffaloe. Gracelyn Milam is the sole junior on the team this season. The sophomore players are Heather Bartholomew, Kaylin Wade, Mallory Puckett, Addison Cameron, Deanna Pusser, and Jaden Scates. The three freshmen Lady Lions consist of Jordan Hampton, Brooklyn Wilkerson, and Lacie Dunavant. Head coach for the Lady Lions is Tracy Chandler and his assistant coach is Michaela Thompson Walters.
The Lions Basketball program is coached by Kevin McClain (head coach) and Drew Martin (assistant coach). Zach Anglin, Jack Beecham, and Lane Martin are the seniors on the team this year. The junior class consists of…
