Lexington Volleyball Falls In Sub-State Match

Last Thursday night, October 15, 2020, Lexington was back on the road yet again for a chance to claim their spot as a team in the state tournament. The Lady Tigers travelled to Covington High School to give it their all in trying to keep their postseason run alive. With some questionable calls that didn’t go Lexington’s way, along with only having two TSSAA referees on had for a sub-state game, the Lady Tigers weren’t able to overcome the adversity as Lexington fell in five sets 25-20, 25-27, 17-25, 25-19, and 7-15.
Preslee Doner was the leader in kills for Lexington with 15. Smith collected 13, followed by McDonald with 8, Atchison with 4, Sanders had two, and Duke recorded one kill for the Lady Tigers. Atchison, who led the team all year long with assists, was the leader in assists again with 36. Emmy Corbitt collected an assist for Lexington also. Doner led in blocks with two.
