“We decided to move forward, in a limited way,” said Wayne Stanfill at the Saturday, September fundraiser for the Historic Doe Creek School and Cemetery. “Once you stop an event, it’s just hard to get the momentum back, and the community, the cemetery and the school still need the donations and support,” he said. His wife, Gail Stanfill, said that everyone was great to come together with all the fish and food to keep the event going. “We knew we couldn’t have the full event with all the concerns over COVID-19, but we wanted to do what we could!” There are usually historical lectures and presentations in the historic one room log schoolhouse, along with…
