Occupants Escape Safely and Two Pets Saved In Early Morning Fire

At 7:12 a.m. on Thursday morning, July 16, 2020, Henderson County Fire Department Stations 6, 7 and 9 were dispatched to a house fire located in the 2000 block of Piney Creek Road. The first firefighters to arrive reported heavy smoke coming from the home. Firefighters entered the home and quickly extinguished a fire located in a bedroom. The occupants were asleep at the time the fire started and were awakened by noise and smoke alarms.
