Sardis Board Meets

The town board for Sardis met on Monday evening, July 6, 2020. With the absence of the mayor and Alderwoman Beecham there was still a quorum present and Assistant Mayor, Richard Holland, opened the meeting. After an invocation and Pledge of Allegiance, the minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved unanimously by those present. The financial report was read and approved unanimously by those present.
A discussion was held on the price of a generator for the water plant. Three bids were disclosed with the lowest being Lindsey Electric at $32,000.00 This will be for a 60 kw, natural gas generator with an automatic transfer. There will be less waste with natural gas and we will have constant sustainability. A larger gas meter may need to be installed.
The generator will be set on a concrete pad which will be poured by Lindsey Electric and is included in the price. A motion was made, seconded and carried to accept the bid from Lindsey Electric.
