Townsend Passes the Gavel to Grice

It was an important day at the June 30, 2020 Lexington Rotary Club as the Rotary Scholarship Recipient, Joanna Wafler, addressed the group and Immediate Past President Katie Townsend passed the gavel to incoming President Kelli Grice.

Joanna Wafler is a recent graduate of Scotts Hill High School and will use her scholarship to attend Union University in the fall. She is the daughter of Pam and Stan Wafler.

Jimmy Borroughs also took the opportunity to recognize Katie Townsend with the Paul Harris Fellowship.
The new President of the Lexington Rotary Club, Kelli Grice, is a Henderson County native from Middlefork, and is the daughter of Anita and the late Tony Ross. She is a 1997 graduate of Lexington High School and has two associate degrees from Jackson State Community College and received her bachelor’s from Mississippi State. For six years she worked as a property rights agent for a natural gas pipeline company. Returning back to Lexington, she met her husband…
