Parks Closed, Traffic Halts in Response to “Stay at Home” Executive Order #23

The day started out with some amazingly low gas prices, dropping from $1.67 to $1.57 within a matter of hours. But it wasn’t the gas pumps that were full.

It appeared to be a major collision on East Church Street between First United Methodist Church and Regions Bank. The Lexington Police Officer wasn’t supervising a wreck, however, but had stopped to help direct traffic as the line into the bank’s drive through had congested the entire street.

Turning around at the old Civic Center, there were large signs, large lines and a parking lot full of people at the Spectrum building. Many were trying to maintain their six feet of social distancing; others were wearing…
