Local Players Earn Postseason Honors

Players from both Lexington High School and Scotts Hill High School earned recognition for postseason play.

As the 2020 high school basketball season has come to a close for Henderson County high schools, we’d like to recognize the players who earned postseason accomplishments in both the district and region tournaments. For the Lexington High School Lady Tigers Basketball team, Kyla Taylor was named to the All-District team this past season. As for the Lexington High School Big Red Tigers Basketball team, Tristin Roberts was named to the All-District team for District 14AAA this past season. Caleb Gorden was named to the All-District team for District 14 AAA and All-Tournament team, this past season, for District 14AA and Justin Russell was named to the All-Tournament team for Region 7AA.
Moving on to the Scotts Hill High School Lions Basketball team, Micah Scates was named to the All-District team. Tyler Crews was named to the All-Tournament team this past season and Ty Martin, Dalton Bailey and Micah Scates earned All-Academic honors this past season. For the Scotts Hill Lady Lions Basketball team, Haley Maness was named to the All-Academic team. Blaize Deere and Harley Bowman were named to the All-District team. Earning recognition for the All-Tournament team (District) was Blaize Deere and Ashlynn Buffaloe. Blaize Deere was also named to the All-Tournament (Region) team, as well.
