Dr. Charles White opened the meeting with a presentation of the Rotarian of the Year award, which was started decades ago by W. T. “Jew” Franklin. The very first honoree was Dr. E.E. Deusner of First Baptist Church, and this year’s recipient was Phillip Peterson.
The special guest speaker of the February 18, 2020 Lexington Rotary Club was Emily Johnson of the Chester County Chamber of Commerce. She was raised in Nashville and moved to Henderson around fifteen years ago and now can preach the benefits of small towns and low tax bases. Johnson said that Henderson County makes a great partner. “What works well for Henderson County also works well for us.” Chester County was formed out of portions in Henderson, Madison, Hardeman and McNairy Counties in 1882, and has a…
