This year has been the 30th anniversary of ladies being able to be members of the Rotary Club and we have been attempting to book as many ladies as possible to speak to us on what would have been considered, thirty to forty years ago, to be a men’s profession. Our speaker for the October 8th Lexington Rotary Club was not the first female anchor for WBBJ-TV, but she is the current female nightly news anchor person for the station, Ariana Alexa.
Ariana came to WBBJ in the fall of 2017 from Washington State, where she covered a variety of stories, from President Trump’s visit to various snowstorms. Since being in Jackson, she has created new segments, including “What’s New Wednesday,” where she introduces new and local spots in…
