Lexington City Board Meets

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen for the City of Lexington met in regular session on Tuesday evening, October 8th, with Jack Johnson, Gordon Wildridge, Sandra Wood, Peggy Gilbert, Emmitt Blankenship and Mayor Jeff Griggs in attendance.

The board reviewed and approved a beer application from Jessica Culpepper for an on-premises tavern at 1080 Cook Street, which will be doing business as 22 Slyde, and also approved the appointment of Brian Williams and Anthony Buck to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Both men were at the end of their term and were re-approved.

Darrel Greene, of 69 Oak Street, had asked to appear before the board concerning a fine on his property, but was not present. City Building Inspector Greg Bird gave a presentation on the poor condition of the property, which has been going on for a number of…
