The special guest speaker for the July 30th Lexington Rotary meeting was Jamie McPeake-Hall, who spoke about the annual McPeake Rodeo event. Rodeos actually had their start in the 1880’s and comes from a Spanish word meaning “round up”. In 1980 the McPeake family started a steer wrestling event which grew to be the largest east of the Mississippi River, and then the family added the rodeo segment. Barrel Racing, Calf Roping and Breakaway Roping are also on the event schedule. Proceeds are used to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital as well as…
