Lions Move to 8-4 on the Season

The Lions moved to 8-4 overall during two non-district games this past week. On Wednesday the Lions traveled to Haywood and hosted Waverly on Friday.
Wednesday the Lions went west to take on Haywood. Neither team really held an advantage through the first two innings. Then, in the third inning, Haywood jumped on Scotts Hill for three runs. In the top of the fourth inning, Scotts Hill finally got on the board when Logan Mooney scored on a ground out. The Lions still trailed 3-1. In the fifth inning, Haywood again scored, extending their lead 4-1. In the top of the sixth inning, Scotts Hill took the lead. Tyler Crews led the inning off with a single. Heisman Austin reached on a walk, and Hunter Maness singled to load the bases for Scotts Hill. Nathan Lewis crushed the first pitch he saw over the left field wall for a grand slam, taking the lead for Scotts Hill 5-4. The lead was short lived for Scotts Hill as…
