Lexington City Board Holds Special Called Meeting

At 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26th, a special called meeting of the Lexington Board of Aldermen and Mayor was called to order at the Lexington Utilities Operations Facility on Maple Street to approve a USDA grant application and the ECD grant application. Mayor Jeff Griggs said that a lot of work from Joe T. Wood, Debra Fesmire and Cody Wood have gone into applying for the grants.
Cody Wood came forward to answer questions about the grants which will provide some $75,000.00 from the Department of Economic and Community Development, along with $22,500.00 from USDA for public Wi-fi in parts of Lexington. One Wi-fi area will extend from the museum to the civic center, and from First Street to Church Street, and the other will serve the Montgomery area.
