A state trooper maintained security off a driveway in the 1100 block of Highway 104 North on Friday afternoon, February 8, as three other patrol cars conducted a search in the nearby woods for a suspect in a stolen vehicle case.
Sources confirmed THP had been using a helicopter over the site to assist, and nearby the light-colored vehicle sat abandoned with the hood raised and the trunk ajar in a site between a mobile home and a shed on the property.
A news tipster alerted The Lexington Progress around 1:14 p.m on Friday, and a search was still being conducted a little after 2:00 p.m. Lt. Wilbanks, with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, was still awaiting information on the incident at the time of the article.
