Last week, the Lions played Waverly, last Thursday, due to rain coming in on Friday. The Lions failed to keep up with Waverly early and fell to them at the end of the night, forcing the Lions into a winner-take-all game this Friday night. Waverly and Scotts Hill started off the night battling it out, but it was Waverly who gained the early advantage as they scored twice on their first two drives, taking a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
