Henderson County Director of Schools, Steve Wilkinson, was the guest speaker for the August 14th Lexington Rotary Club meeting.  The system runs with a $30 million budget, with 325 certified employees, and 250 non-certified, and an enrollment this year of 4,032 students in nine schools, which ten years ago had an enrollment of about 3,600. Tracking from the 9th grade, the graduation rate was calculated at 98.3%, while the state average is at 89.10%. The rate attending college is 69.9%, and a system wide average of 21.2% versus the state average of 20.1%. The per student expenditure is $8,958.00.
