The Board of Education for Henderson County Schools met in regular session on Thursday evening, April 12th. The board approved the second and final reading of amended board policies, moved forward with the annual approval of textbooks, and approved surplus equipment. The board also decided that former instructor, Jimmy Fesmire, should have a field named in his honor at the Henderson County Sportsplex, with a suitable sign or plaque. The board also discussed the possibility of a sign for the Sportsplex on East Church Street to assist travelers. A motion to surplus a house and lot near Pin Oak School was approved. The property has been rented for seventeen years, and will now be vacant, making it easier to dispose of the property, while keeping a portion of a lot that may be of use to the school later on.
