Thursday, September 14th was the official election day for the city of Lexington. The polls closed at 7:00 p.m., and a little before 7:30 p.m., the results were tallied and announced. In the contested positions 1,209 votes were cast for mayor, with Jeff Griggs becoming mayor elect over Jack Johnson with 875 votes. Johnson visited KC’s Farmhouse to extend his congratulations.  Amid a large group of cheers, Griggs looked humbled, saying “I am really looking forward to serving the citizens of Lexington full-time.” Looking briefly up, he said, “I’ll do my best and I wish…
