Lexington City Board Meets

There was a full agenda on Tuesday night, August 8th meeting of the Lexington City Board.    The board approved the second, final, reading to amend the Project Success scholarship.  As the state has provided free tuition for Jackson State and other two-year college programs, the board has loosened the restrictions on the $250.00 scholarship so it can be used for books, gasoline, or other expenses.    The first reading on a “round-up” for the Frances Hensley Animal Shelter was also approved by the board.  This will allow customers of Lexington Electric System and Lexington Utilities to round up their bill to the nearest dollar and designate the Shelter as the recipient.
