Dark clouds boiled overhead, but still the sun shone unmercifully upon the sidewalks and streets of Lexington.  A man in running gear exited Blimpy’s, a bandanna loose over his head and his face protected by zinc oxide, put up his map and his umbrella.    J. Bob Jones started on a 314-mile run from Hickman, Ky, through Tennessee and Alabama, to Castle Rock, Georgia.  He has ten days to make the run.  He checks in every twelve hours, keeping his minimum of thirty-one miles per day.  “Less than that,” he says, “and you risk…
