Mayor Hughes Signs Grant on Farmers Market

News Release – The Henderson County Government will be bringing new life to the old Brown Shoe Factory by creating a vibrant farmers market at that location!  Mayor Dan Hughes stated, “I have strived to improve the lives of our citizens, and the Henderson County Farmers Market will provide additional business opportunities for our local growers as well as providing healthy low-cost food options for families.”

“Additionally, the Farmers Market will provide a venue which various groups can use to expand heritage and cultural opportunities for Henderson County and the surrounding regions,” Hughes said.This new Henderson County Farmers Market is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), obtained through the efforts of the Lexington-Henderson County Alliance.  The planning process of…
