Director Of Schools To Resign Effective August 16

The Board of Education for the Lexington City Schools System met in a special called session to wind up end of year housekeeping items on the budget, outstanding purchase orders, bids, and a continuing budget resolution, if necessary.

Director of Schools, Susan Bunch, began speaking quietly, but with much emotion as she talked about coming to the decision of leaving the Director’s position on August 16th.  She spoke about a conversation that she had with the late Jimmy Fesmire, then her predecessor as Superintendent in Henderson County, where he had said “Make sure you have the right people, with the right skills sets, in the right place.  If things go well in every department…well, then, that’s exactly what you want.”
