Henderson County Commission Lowers Property Tax and Passes Budget

Mayor Dan Hughes congratulated the Henderson County Commission on another timely budget, which also included a ten-cent reduction in the county property tax to a rate of $2.2832 per $100.00.    Some counties are facing the possibility of a new wheel tax and property tax hikes.  Henderson County was able to recently rescind its wheel tax, and the commission cheered at the lower property tax rate.  The commission approved interdepartmental transfers for the “Read to be Ready” summer grant, year’s end items for various…
