Utility Boards Meet and Submit Budgets
The Utility Boards met Tuesday evening, May 23rd, for regular business and presented their budgets for review. Jeff Graves represented Lexington Electric System, reporting that there had been extensive training during the previous month, and one employee on the OSHA 300 report. There were four outages, one in Reagan due to a tree which had taken down a line. Mayor Jowers asked about the outage on Monday, May 8th, that affected traffic lights, businesses and residences in western part of the city and along Broad Street downtown. Graves said the outage came from a transformer outage at the Lexington Substation, and are still looking into the causes. Graves answered several questions from the board on calling in outages, and explained about the after hours staff and message center.
