County Commission Meets in Special Called Session
The Henderson County Commission met Thursday evening, May 25th, in a special called session. There were no transfers or amendments for presentation, but County Mayor, Dan Hughes, brought forward the Litter Resolution, which was approved. This resolution is a precursor for the receipt of state funds of about $48,000. The solid waste contract expires on June 2nd. The County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) reviewed the bidding process by the county and recommended Waste Management as the best bid. The Waste Management bid was reviewed by the Budget Committee earlier in the day and approved, and reflects about $35,000 in savings. The bid was approved by the commissioners.
