Relay for Life Survivor Story : “The Lord Showed Me…Not To Worry”

One morning in February 2007 when I did my usual self-exam, I found a lump. Since I had a doctor’s appointment in two weeks with a primary care physician, I waited until then to get it checked out. The doctor sent me to get a mammogram and ultrasound. The head nurse then talked to me and told me that I needed to see a surgeon so she made me an appointment. When I saw the surgeon, he did a needle biopsy in the office and set up an appointment for a stereotactic needle biopsy on an outpatient basis. On the morning of March 26, 2007, when they called me back, the doctor came in and told me the results of the needle biopsy and it was cancer. He told me if I decided what I wanted to do, he could cancel the stereotactic biopsy. I thought my life was over. He went to get my husband, Roger and…
