Lexington City Board Meets

The Lexington mayor and board of aldermen met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd in the conference room at City Hall. The first item for the agenda was a motion and approval of Godwin and Associate for the city’s audit contract. The firm has been used for several years, with no increase in the $25,000 contract. Tasha Johnson presented a recommendation to form a tree board. She said that the committee that has been meeting on the tree issues in the downtown area has looked at several other cities, which use a tree board to make recommendations and apply for grants.
