Lexington City Board Meets

The Lexington mayor and board of aldermen met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd in the conference room at City Hall.   The first item for the agenda was a motion and approval of Godwin and Associate for the city’s audit contract.  The firm has been used for several years, with no increase in the $25,000 contract.    Tasha Johnson presented a recommendation to form a tree board.  She said that the committee that has been meeting on the tree issues in the downtown area has looked at several other cities, which use a tree board to make recommendations and apply for grants.    She also reported that there are only eleven of the seventeen trees in the original plan, and that the group has already met with an arborist on possible…
