Controversy continues to surround the layoffs occurring at Leroy Somer. After several calls and questions were received by The Lexington Progress, an inquiry was directed to the public information and communications office of Nidec, which acquired Leroy Somer, Lexington, last year. Teresa D. Webster, Vice President, Human Resources for Leroy Somer Americas, Kato Engineering, Inc., had this response:
