A Hail of a Storm!

By 10:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9th, weather alert radios, television stations, and cell phone alerts had become a constant cacophony. A band of extreme thunderstorms and possible tornadoes reached in two long strands, entering Henderson County near Blue Goose and Middlefork. Dark clouds boiled overhead, illuminated by furious streaks of lightning. Winds in areas gusted and then died down, but the thunder became a constant roll. Shortly after 10:00 p.m. quarter size hail and a twisting pattern in the clouds was reported at Blue Goose. Weather sirens at Lexington moaned against the encroaching…
