LWS Scores 100% on Water Survey
The City of Lexington was notified on March 2nd that the Lexington Water System had scored 599 points out of 599 points, for 100% on the required two year Sanitary Survey. The survey was conducted by the Division of Water Resources on February 28th. “If you score below 70%, then the survey is conducted every year,” said Michael Harper, Director of LWS. “90% is required for approval, and the last four scorings have been 98% to 100%.” The announcement also commends staff as “their attention to details in the overall operations of the water plant demonstrate a dedication towards compliance, and providing customers with good, clean, safe quality drinking water.” Harper said that “The score is the result of the mayor…
