Lexington High School Beta Club Turns Eighty
The Beta Club at Lexington High School celebrates eighty years this week. The organization was founded on March 1, 1937, and coincides with National Beta Club Week. “We think that the Beta Club may be the oldest organization still in existence at LHS,” sponsor Nicki Johnson said. “The Future Farmers of America is the only one that can come close.” FFA became a National group in 1928. The FFA is the oldest organization at LHS, founded in 1929. Beta club is the second oldest. These two great organizations have been a positive influence on our young people for the better part of a century. Proud to be a part of such a great legacy.
